5 Obsolete Legal Technologies that Shouldn’t Be Obsolete

The Ball Point Pen

bic-pen-3813642484_74f34333dd_zDespite the nagging and yet unfixed bug of a ball point pen producing extremely erratic results when used in the left hand, they still remain a compelling but dated technology. Sure, lawyers have switched to their fingers for most communications, whether swiping, typing, or flipping the bird, but just where have those fingers been? The ball point pen, with its pre-installed well of ink, can be picked up, thrown, chewed on, made into a small weapon, surgical tool, or underwater breathing device, and still be used to sign a document, rattle off a CYA letter, or fingerprint a client. We recommend the Cristal Stic Bic, a standard bearer, though the more modern Pilot Acroball is pretty sweet.
