How to Dress to Impress for Any Occasion

  BitterEmpire /   February 11, 2019 /   Endings, Featured /   Leave a Comment

Everyone wants to be a trendsetter, but it is easy to make fashion mistakes that can make you stick out like a sore thumb. Thankfully, it is possible to create a hassle-free, jaw-dropping style every day.

Whether you are set to spend the night at the theater, attend a summer wedding or party, or are heading off on a first date, find out how to dress to impress for any occasion.

A First Date

It goes without saying you will want to make a good impression on a first date. While you should dress up a little, you also should wear clothing that complements your personality.

For example, men could wear a pair of jeans and a shirt that suits their style. Women also don’t need to try too hard on a first date, and you can easily find stylish options to suit you online, from good quality plus size jeans to a blouse, or a dress. The right pair of jeans can see you step out in confidence and comfort. It can be a nightmare if you feel uncomfortable with what you are wearing on your first date. By finding the perfect pair of flattering jeans, you can enjoy your date even more and will look and feel your best self.

A Get-Together or Barbecue

If you are set to attend a family get-together or a summer barbecue, you might be confused about the right clothing items to wear. The dress code will most likely be casual for a laidback event with friends or relatives, so you can wear anything clothing you like, from a:

  • T-shirt and shorts
  • Sundress
  • Sweater and jeans
  • Shirt and trousers

However, always consider the weather and the setting before making your decision.

A Wedding

Unless otherwise stated on an invitation, a wedding is commonly a black-tie affair. While women should always avoid wearing white, it is tradition to wear a gown when attending a ceremony. Floor-length dresses were once the etiquette, but the rules have softened, and many guests are now choosing to wear knee-length wedding guest dresses. Men should also wear a suit, which should complement both the time and season.

A Job Interview

To secure a new job, you must make a great first impression. If you look unprofessional or unkempt, you can almost guarantee an interviewer will hire another candidate.

For example, men should wear either a dark, professional suit, while women can wear either a suit or a dress with or without tights or a stylish blazer. While a watch can add the finishing touch to your polished attire, you should avoid accessorizing with jangly jewelry, which could be distracting during an interview.

A Night at the Theater

While men once donned their best tuxedos and women adorned beautiful ball gowns when attending the theater, times have changed and so has the dress code. Nowadays, it’s perfectly acceptable to wear a casual outfit, such as jeans and a t-shirt or a shirt and trousers.

A Religious Ceremony

Religious events, such as a baptism or bar mitzvah, often have a conservative dress code. While it’s wise to check convention before choosing an outfit, it’s common for women to wear a dress or skirt that is below the knee, which could be complemented with a cardigan. What’s more, you should steer clear of outfits that expose too much skin. Men should also wear a formal suit.
