Quick headlines from the Bitter Newsroom:

One woman needs to “Believe” a little more this holiday season.  “Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen received a phone call from Obama yesterday to wish her congratulations on her re-election and to convey other political-type niceties — like the importance of working together.” But not wanting to pull a Sarah Palin, she refused to believe it was actually the President-elect calling and hung up on him…twice.  It’s almost like Aaron Sorkin scripted it.  Oh, wait.  He did.  In 1995.  []

The July 2008 bar passage rate was “the highest it’s ever been.” As is the Big Firm layoff rate, the slashed bonus rate, the job offer rescinding rate… Congrats to all for a banner year.  Achievers!  []

When the going gets tough, Canada completely shuts down.  Closed.  See ya next year.  [Bloomberg]

The bailout plan is stupid.  Harvard sez.  [The Crimson]

I really shouldn’t put this in writing, but today we’re going to do this a little differently than usual. What’s this all about?  Don’t ask.  You don’t want to know.  [ABA Journal]
