Britney Spears has had some rough times in her past, but it’s been a long time since her umbrella smackdown and head-shaving days. That was back when Brit was running wild and free. Now everything’s different. Her current camp is so on the ball that if one of her people even hears whispers about bad press on the horizon, they jump into a proactive litigious stance. There’s no way they’re letting her head down that path again.
You want a strongly worded letter sent your way? Say something off-color about Britney and see what happens. Following the VMAs in August, In Touch was toying with the idea of doing just that. The mag was going to run a story describing Britney’s alleged “erratic” behavior at the event, which included “talking and laughing to herself and using a British accent.”
In Touch must have been testing the waters since it was the one that informed Britney’s team about its intent to run the story. And in return, it received a resounding, “oh hell no” from the singer’s lawyer. Futhermore, the lawyer said the story was “utterly false, highly defamatory, and completely offensive to Ms. Spears.”
A source connected with Britney tells TMZ, the singer and her team are sick of ‘made-up’ stories, especially in the face of how hard she’s worked to turn her life around. They say if the story runs, they will absolutely sue the magazine, adding this will be the first of many lawsuits to stop the lies.
In lighter news, Brit recently revealed that she would love to collaborate with Gwen Stefani, Aerosmith, and Justin Timberlake. Yes, Justin Timberlake.
Bring this look back, you two. Please!
