Another Monday has come and gone and we’ve ran out of advil, making the struggle real today children! No regrets, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Divine Inspiration (Logo, Monday 9/8c) aired and boy was it a doozy!
We are so happy to see Trixi Mattel back in the work room where she belongs and just in time for an annual favorite mini challenge; Reading!
The Library opens, darling, and Katya’s face says it all.
Trixi wins this challenge by a landslide. Do these children not understand that reading is fundamental?! Pearl stops our heart when she turns on Ru who quickly stops her in her tracks and jokingly shows her the door–this is a moment we wish was real.
Ru quickly whisks us away to the best maxi-challenge the producers could’ve came up with, a John Waters/Divine inspired challenge.

The girls mad dash to pick their own teams. I hate it when they get that opportunity, I want to see some “see you next tuesday” shady group assignments! Trixi Mattel and Ginger Minj grab each other like magnets and Katya is whisked away by Kennedy Davenport. This leaves Pearl, Miss Fame and Violet Chachki to (whomp whomp, sad face) be the three not so amigos.
It’s an acting and singing challenge that really makes us want to see a sewing challenge and we rarely ever want to see those. But it’s John Waters and Divine so we forgive it. Katya and Kennedy Davenport sell cha-cha heels–even though we had a “will she or won’t she?” moment with Kennedy and the Christmas Tree. Ginger Minj and Trixi Mattel serve us some eggs and we live!
For the first time in Ginger’s drag life she was called sweet and the entire world is baffled at what kind of crack people were smoking backstage before shooting.
The plastic amigos fail hard with easily the best script/song “Poo” from Pink Flamingos. We aren’t surprised because they are required to a.) be funny b.) be ugly c.) sing and act.
The runway is ugly realness with special guest judges John Waters (I die) and Demi Levato. An interesting pair. But the real standout here is Miss Star Booty herself, I’m talking about the naked RuPaul printed on RuPaul’s dress with the same hair do…it was very, ummm, meta?
Katya and Violet nail it while Miss Fame and Pearl can’t help themselves to be anything less than cute (gag us now). Katya’s descriptions of her runway week after week are incredible and somehow no one is really paying attention, which is unfortunate.
Ginger Minj wins the challenge. It could’ve easily went to Katya, but let’s give Ginger 3 wins…why not?
Miss Fame and Pearl find themselves lip syncing for their lives. We already know Miss Fame is going home as she has performed maybe seven times while Pearl has come up through the bar scene. The song is Demi Levato’s Really Don’t Care and that is exactly how we feel about both of these performances.
6 queens remain: 3 comedy queens and 3 beauty queens. Hopefully things will start to get interesting!
