That Was Unexpected: Eurovision 2016 Round-Up

In another genre switch-up, Georgia has discovered Blur. With a fun alt-’90s sound and some of the boldest staging and editing we saw from this year’s contest, we love Georgia’s entry “Midnight Gold” (despite the band’s regrettable name: Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz) and would like this to be a trendsetter for next year.  Unfortunately, it got lukewarm scores in the finals, so it probably won’t be.
