That Was Unexpected: Eurovision 2016 Round-Up

  Elizabeth Lane /   May 16, 2016 /   Critic, Featured /   Leave a Comment

Say, what’s Draco Malfoy up to these days? Why, he’s moonlighting as Estonian singer Jüri Pootsmann, who performed the brassy, seductive “Play” at the semi-finals.  Pootsmann was a little wooden, and he’s got a deep baritone with a very unusual timbre; audiences weren’t wowed, and he didn’t make his way to the finals.  Whatever:  we totally fell for his bedroom eyes, his natty-ass double-breasted suit, and his card tricks. We hope to see him in a few years when he’s more seasoned.
