5 Celebs You Had No Idea Were Huge Ball Fans

  BitterEmpire /   December 3, 2017 /   Critic /   Leave a Comment

While most celebrities spend their days on the red carpets, dining in fancy restaurants or getting their new business ventures off the ground, all of them still find the time to concentrate on their much-loved hobbies. Some celebs like gardening whereas many others like working out. One thing’s for certain though, many of the biggest celebs in the world are huge baseball fans, and some of those are probably ones you didn’t think was into the sport.

1.     Eminem – Detroit Tigers

The much-loved American rapper, Eminem, continues to share his love for the famous Detroit Tigers. Eminem grew up on the streets of Detroit and, although his youth days weren’t especially fancy, they were still the days that gave him the lyrics which ultimately shaped him to be one of the most successful rappers of all time. Eminem never forgot about Detroit or the Tigers, and that showed in 2016 when the Tigers officially released a jersey with his name written on the back.

2.     Paul Rudd – Kansas City Royals

With a very dry sense of humor and often known as a bit of a pushover in some of his hit movies (and of course, Friends) – Paul Rudd is very comical but serious when it comes to baseball. Paul has always had a thing for the Kansas City Royals, ever since he was growing up in Kansas City. He’s always trying to find the time (and any excuse) to go back to his roots so he can throw on a Kansas jersey if his wife lets him.

3.     Matt Damon – Boston Red Sox

When Matt Damon isn’t trying to evade the police or remember who he is on movie sets, he’s got his beloved Red Sox jersey on, so he can support his boys in front of the box. Matt Damon has always been open about his love for the Boston Red Sox and has openly admitted he’s a huge admirer of first baseman, David Ortiz, saying he’s one of the best players in the game.

4.     Tom Hanks – Oakland Athletics

When he’s not speaking to his pal, Wilson, on a remote island in the middle of nowhere, Tom Hanks likes to get down to the A’s to support the team he’s loved since he was young. Tom Hanks is aging, but he’s still one of the few celebrity baseball fans you can rely on to make a fool of himself in front of the big screen.

5.     Mark Wahlberg – Boston Red Sox

Ted, Ted 2, Shooter, Contraband and, of course, Patriots Day, are probably just some of the massive movies you know Mark Wahlberg from. However, what you probably didn’t know is that Mark is a huge Boston Red Sox fan, and he’s never hidden that fact either. He was born in Boston, so it’s no surprise to see him at Fenway Park from time to time shouting the odds at the other team players when he’s not happy.

Of course, there are many other celebrities out there who share a love for one of the biggest sports in America, but the above will always tell you that they are diehard fans and no one else out there can compete with the same passion they show during the big games.
